Production Techniques • Loudness between songs - (-9 LUFS song sounds louder than -7.5 LUFS song) by ear or with help?

hi guys, i got some songs done i wanted to compile and in the past i went always by ear but now i tried to stay around -8 LUFS int and have adjusted the tracks around it and checked the LUFS with EXPOSE 2. but i got a song which is -8.9 LUFS and it sounds a tad louder than the song with -7.5 LUFS.

what can this be? trust my ears or go by EXPOSE 2 LUFS meter?
